A new Priest-in-Charge for the East End Churches

Rev Tessa Lowe

The Rt Rev Kevin Pearson, Bishop of the United Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev Tessa Louise (Tess) Lowe as Priest-in-Charge of the East End Episcopal Churches (EEEC).

Tess says, “I am delighted to have been appointed as priest in charge of the East End Episcopal Churches, and thrilled at the opportunity to live and minister in the great city of Glasgow with its historic culture, flourishing music, and varied landscapes. Jane and I are grateful for the generosity and welcome already extended to us by the Scottish Episcopal Church, and I very much look forward to working with the Vestry and congregations of St John’s, St Kentigern’s and St Serf’s to grow God’s kingdom of love amid the rich diversity of the East End. May God bless us all as we begin this new journey together.”

Tess comes to the Diocese from the Canterbury Province in the Church of England, where she has been serving in All Saints, Biddenden and St Michael’s, Smarden in the Diocese of Canterbury.

Bishop Kevin says, “This announcement has been the answer to much prayer and work on the parts of the EEEC Vestry and the Diocese. The last couple of years have witnessed the East End Episcopal Churches reshape themselves to provide a realistic governance framework to enable the next chapter of ministry and mission to begin in the East End of the city. In advertising this post, it was a delight to hear from Tess, who comes to us with all the skills, gifts and talents necessary to help build up the life of the EEEC as they look to the next new chapter in their life as a single charge. There will be much excitement as we look forward to welcoming Tess and Jane into the life of the diocese and help them feel at home in the Scottish Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway.”

Please pray for Tess and Jane as they prepare to move to the Diocese and as Tess looks forward to serving in the East End Episcopal Churches during the coming months.
